CHANGING ROOMS ON THE HORIZON

We are pleased to inform you that our planning application for changing rooms was passed in December and on June 15th 2008 the new facility was opened.  The changing rooms are of a pre-manufactured wooden construction, with a concrete base and apron. The building consists of two separate changing areas and two smaller rooms at the front of the building to house a kitchen area with a roller shutter window and an officials’ room.

We are expecting to put water on and have a bio loo in the near future.  A big ‘thank you’ to everyone who is supporting the village playing field and donating towards the cost of these changing rooms.

COMMITTEE REPORT

Over the coming months there will be work in progress on and around the playing field car park in preparation for the new changing rooms.  The car park will be expanded to be able to accommodate a further eight cars.  However, if you  can walk or cycle to the playing field this will be promoting a healthy life style, as well as keeping you fit!
We are still looking for a few more volunteers to join us on the committee and particularly people who would be able to head up the conservation project or children's play area. If you are interested in either of the above roles please contact Robin Wright on 01427 788402 or Paul Andrews on 01427 788439.
GARDEN ALLOTMENTS SUGGESTION
It has been suggested that we turn the plot of land at the far side of the playing field into eight allotments for people in the village to use from 2009. If you are interested in either helping to achieve this or would like an allotment plot; please contact Robin 01427 788402 for more details.
The idea is that it will provide physical activity in a different form (gardeners gym) added security, sustainable use of land and a small income for the playing field.

NEW MEMBERS TO THE COMMITTEE!!!

A big thank you and welcome to both Debbie Thombs and Phil Troop for joining the committee. If you'd like to become more invloved in the activities at Willingham Playimng Field contact Paul on 788439 for more details.

WILDLIFE GARDEN

The willow has been cut back to its shape with some help from the local Scout and Explorer group, along with some extra help from other people.  The wildlife garden plans have been collected and are helping us a lot with the  future garden plans.   If there are any groups/people who are willing to volunteer to help build the wildlife garden or help one day!  Please ring Darren if you are able to help in any way on 788458.

A big thank you to all those people who have supported the events which have taken place over the past year, raising funds for the changing rooms etc.
